yay – I finally got some time to work on my whimsy girls – And I went ahead and used some of my really nice watercolour paper and gave my gauche a try.
While I was painting last night I realised something, I have finally reached a state of mind, where I’m comfortable with my work. My drawings do gets messed up, and very often they don’t turn out as fantastic as I have envisioned them *Grin*, but instead of loosing my nerve and stop in the middle of an illustration or a painting – I hear a voice telling me to keep on going, and wait to pass judgement before the piece is finished. And you know what? – that is excellent advise
– because most of the time, an illustrations doesn’t seem that great before all the shadows and lines have been made *doh*
And another thing that my inner monster have learned, it doesn’t matter if an illustration doesn’t turn out as expected – because you can always draw a new one.
I finally got it *running around, hands in air*
Happy weekend to all

I’m reading a lot of books at the moment, and one thing they all have in common is figuring out how to bring more art and creativity into me life. And that is what inspired me to do this piece.
So maybe I’m not doing as much art as I would like to, but each time I wake up – it’s a new day, filled with opportunity and new beginnings. And this is something I want to remind myself. That even though I didn’t’ find the time yesterday to draw or otherwise be creative it really doesn’t matter because to day is a brand new day.

I stumbled upon this site: The ArtTrader magazine awhile back, and then forgot all about it again. But today I “re-stumbled” upon it, and thought I would share. There is a wealth of information in the free down-loadable magazines
Happy reading

It took me awhile to figure it out, the theme for CED: Play – At first I thought that’s easy it’s about doing something fun, children playing etc. But I had a very hard time coming up with ideas for the project. – okay having 3 small children sick on/off the first 3 weeks of the year hasn’t made it easier, but still.
I found and joined two new groups Mixed media with Suzi Blu and Willowing’s wonderful world of whimsy. I did it to get inspired and I was. I have been drawing and doodling, filling up my art journal, building houses for the fairies in the woods with my children, inventing and sewing costumes for the children – and still I couldn’t figure out what to make and post here.
Then suddenly it dawned on my, one evening while drawing a girls face (which wasn’t turning out as I wanted it to, but I had a great time anyway) -I was Playing and having fun, and I had been all month…..
Pics will follow on a later note

I will also be joining the Project Suzi: 2009 Journals! – I just hope that I will finish in time for the deadline – right now it doesn’t look to good, but I still have some days left, so I’m crossing my fingers. I have found so many great art related projects for this year, and I have almost figured out how I can manage them and make it fun.
